Rare Device Nightlights

Dropped off this recent batch of End of Day fused nightlights at Rare Deice yesterday! I’ve mentioned before but all the glass used for these lights is 100% recycled scrap. I create a lot of waste while making art, and I’ve tried my best to repurpose whatever I can. The challenge has been making something out of repurposed materials that I actually enjoy visually. Those of you who have been to my studio have seen the “unfortunate-looking ones” box. It is a box filled with attempts, prototypes, and objects that frankly are just too unfortunate looking to share. I’ve thought, once the box is heaping and overflowing, that I would have an art show that showcases only the rejects, the unsellable, the ones I’ve held under lock and key.

Through my mishaps, I’ve created a batch of what I would consider successful lil’ cuties (below) and you can find them at Rare Device on Divisadero in SF. Thanks, everyone!!
